Wood patio covers have a lifespan - and when they start showing their age, the problems tend to stack up fast. Warping, cracking, fading, and ongoing paint or stain maintenance are just part of the deal with wood. At some point, patching it up stops making sense.
That's exactly where this backyard was. The existing wood cover had run its course. It wasn't a bad setup, but it had aged out. So we pulled it down completely and started fresh with a solid aluminum patio cover that fits the space properly and doesn't demand constant upkeep.
Solid aluminum covers are one of our most popular installs - and for good reason. They block the sun completely, they don't rot or warp, and the finish holds up year after year without repainting. The clean, flat roofline also gives the patio a much more polished look compared to the older wood structure.
What we ended up with here is a cover that feels like it was always meant to be there. The profile is low and smooth, the posts are plumb, and the whole thing ties in neatly to the house. It's the kind of upgrade that changes how much you actually use your backyard.
